motor testing

I'm new to working on carts. Have fairly good mechanical skills. When testing 36 v clubcar motor ,I can only get it to run backwards.Jumping A2 to S1 then S2 to plus side of battery and A1 to ground.

I did the same thing, same posts, and was freaking out that it was going backwards. I saw a different video on youtube and realized my mistake: it turns out the positive should go to A1 and ground to S2 to go forward. Our motors are fine
